Salle Pleyel, Paris VIII A California native, Joshua Redman is a summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard (1991) who abandoned the idea of continuing on to Yale Law, to pursue a life in music. His music has encompassed both hard bop and nonchalance funky, rendering homage to John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins and Bud Powell, but expressing its essence in his own harmony and semantics. Himself on saxophone he is accompanied by Aaron Parks on piano, Matt Penman on base and Eric Harland on drums.
