From Antony to the Valley of the Bievres on Sunday February 28 - Cancelled due to high winds

On this walk, we'll start off from the RER B station in Antony through the Bois de Verrières, to Bièvres, then Jouy en Josas. If we feel up to it and depending on the weather, we can continue on to Versailles or Viroflay as we'll be walking near a train line for the last part.

Our train, named PEPE, direction St-Remy, leaves Chatelet at 10h11 and arrives in Antony at 10h 31. We'll meet either in front of the 3rd train car to the last on the platform at Chatelet or in front of the Antony RER station on the Place René Cassin (take the exit near the middle of the train in Antony).

To come back to Paris, trains run from Bièvres or Jouy to Versailles and from there to Montparnasse every half an hour.If we walk just to Bièvres, the hike will be about 12 kms long, to Jouy en Josas, about 16 kms, so 3 to 4 or 5 hours long.

Bring a picnic lunch as usual, and don't buy a ticket in advance.

Guided visit “Conversation anglaise†- The Bloomsbury Group - Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 3 pm

La Piscine Museum, Roubaix
Roubaix, a suburb of Lille, is known for its museum of art and industry, la Piscine, opened in 2001 in the former municipal swimming pool, itself housed in an exceptional art-deco building. The museum has organised, for the first time in France, an exhibition honouring the artistic talents of the Bloomsbury Group,* a gathering of British intellectuals in the early 20th century who expressed their at times contradictory convictions with passion and vision. Our guided visit, in English, will last an hour, but the museum is open to us until 6 pm.
12€ for PAN members, 15€ for non-members.
Possible lunch, dinner and Saturday-to-Sunday hotel arrangements.
Car drivers attend for free.

*Including Virginia Woolf, E.M. Forster, John Maynard Keynes, Clive Bell, Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Roger Fry.

Changing Looks - Wednesday, February 3, 2010 - 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Paris 7
55% of first impressions are formed in the first minute you meet someone. 38% are from the way you look and your body language, and only 7% are based on what you say. Your image depends on colors, dress sense and body language. Your charisma, elegance, energy and confidence all depend on the synergy of your inner self with your outer image. PAN has invited Micheline Tanguy, an Image Coach for over 20 years, to talk to us about this often misunderstood and/or ignored element of our social existence. 5€ per person.
