La Piscine Museum, Roubaix
Roubaix, a suburb of Lille, is known for its museum of art and industry, la Piscine, opened in 2001 in the former municipal swimming pool, itself housed in an exceptional art-deco building. The museum has organised, for the first time in France, an exhibition honouring the artistic talents of the Bloomsbury Group,* a gathering of British intellectuals in the early 20th century who expressed their at times contradictory convictions with passion and vision. Our guided visit, in English, will last an hour, but the museum is open to us until 6 pm.
12€ for PAN members, 15€ for non-members.
Possible lunch, dinner and Saturday-to-Sunday hotel arrangements.
Car drivers attend for free.

*Including Virginia Woolf, E.M. Forster, John Maynard Keynes, Clive Bell, Duncan Grant, Vanessa Bell and Roger Fry.
