Inheriting three centuries of history and a tradition of teaching excellence, the lycée militaire in St Cyr l’Ecole still harbors the memories of the royal house of Saint-Louis. Founded by Louis XIV at the request of Madame de Maintenon, the institute welcomed more than 3,000 young ladies until the end of the Ancien Régime. Napoleon I later founded the military academy for infantry and cavalry officers there in 1808. Hour and a half visit in French, 8€ per person.
