CELEBRATE AT PAN'S NEW YEAR CLASSICAL CONCERT - Friday, January 6, 2012 at 8 pm

Salle Pleyel, Paris 8

If you haven't yet seen and heard the great Russian pianist Mikhail Rudy, seize this chance during the Paris stop of his international tours and recordings with famous orchestras from St Petersburg to San Francisco. You'll experience Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto like you never have before, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France directed by Alexander Vedernikov. From his first concert after escaping to the west (with Stern and Rostropovich in honor of the 90th birthday of Chagall, who became his good friend), Rudy, age 57, as in his recent aptly titled box of 5 CDs, "Le Piano Romantic," masters a repertory from Rachmaninov, Prokofiev and Stravinsky to Brahms, Chopin and Liszt up through Janacek. After his script for the film and play "The Pianist," the BBC made a movie of his autobiography "Le Roman d’un Pianiste ou L’Impatience de Vivre." Tonight's program ends with extracts from Prokofiev's ballet Cendrillon, so lyrical and enchanting, you'll want to dance your way home. 30€ tickets – Cat 2, group price.

Our activities

The broad scope of PAN activities underscores PAN's fundamental vocation to enrich our lives collectively and as individuals.

Many PAN events have been so successful that they have become annual landmarks on the calendar: among them, the PAN Artists' Exhibition, and, on a lighter note, the Christmas Carolling Party.

Equally popular are the New Member/Old Member soirées and other parties organized to enable PAN members to get to know one another.

PAN also varies its agenda yearly to reflect important changes in the world in which we live and work, with special programs on work-related matters or current affairs, or to commemorate an historical moment or celebrate a major cultural event.

Members have the opportunity to get together in smaller groups as well, to pursue activities such as reading and discussing books within the framework of our Book Club. Artists, journalists and psychologists have, likewise, joined forces with fellow colleagues in PAN for a variety of reasons, both social and professional.
