“Pissarro’s Places” - Friday, April 13, 2012 – 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Talk by Ann Saul
Camille Pissarro’s paintings invite you to join him in that place. In Pontoise, the blue sky and reflections lying gently on the Oise River are just as they were then. The “sensations” he felt and captured in his paintings are just as real. This was his genius. Ann Saul has traveled to all the places Pissarro painted (except Venezuela). From her 25 years’ study of Pissarro, she has written a book called Pissarro’s Places. Her slide-lecture covering cities and countryside gives you a taste of the “sensations” of those places and Pissarro’s art. Ann was formerly a Guide at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and a Docent at Terra Museum of American Art in Chicago. Free for PAN members, 5€ for non-members.
